My husband and I were both born and raised in San Diego. Between our families and the beautiful weather, we just can’t seem to find anywhere else we want to be. While we love to travel and explore whenever possible, it’s a hobby that costs a fair bit of money. Sometimes logistically, it just makes sense to explore the endless experiences our home has to offer.
Viva Momcation! I saw the perfect hashtag recently- #momsgonemild. Back in the old days when we had endless energy, and far too much confidence, the idea of a chilled out time with the girls was not on the agenda. Dancing, boys, bonfires... the busier the better. Now that life is busy in its own way, I find myself craving simpler moments. So here’s to the new era of moms gone mild!
Flashback, it's 2021 and we have been living in this bizarre Covid world for a year. The travel bug in me is screaming to go on an adventure, my kids are going stir crazy, and we are in desperate need of a break from this new reality we are living in. So this mom got a wild idea. Why not trek halfway across the pacific to the newly reopened Hawaiian Islands with 2 little kids?
If you’re feeling the travel bug but your bank account is telling you a different story, don’t be discouraged. Certainly don’t go into debt to vacation, but look around at more affordable options. Research a little and you just might find a Vacation is within reach...
My life changed so much in the last 4 years. Our family grew from 0 to 2 kids then 2 to 4, then back to 2. Navigating my role as mom in a pandemic, becoming the primary teacher, figuring out my job amidst it all. Fighting a corrupt foster system and getting all too familiar with our legal system in the process. Helping broken children become whole again and watching them leave against their will. Helping my remaining children cope with the tremendous loss they felt while grappling with my own grief. There was no rest for the weary. And I was WEARY.
