Last Minute Fathers Day Plans and Gift Guide

Fathers Day is almost here! This year I have felt like the biggest slacker when it comes to planning for special days! In fact, I’m writing this post with Fathers day coming up next weekend. This last minute thing is new to me and I’m pretty sure it has been a byproduct of the grief our family has been processing since our foster girls left us in January. So, if you find yourself in my shoes, trying to make sure the fathers in your life feel the love in just over a week, take advantage of my last minute gift search! Here are some celebration and gift ideas that you should be able to get before Fathers day!
If you’re feeling at a loss for what to do or where to go, here are a few ideas to get your wheels turning. While Fathers day falls on a Sunday, don’t feel like you can’t utilize Saturday as an alternative celebration day!
For The Golfer
Take the family and head to the mini golf course followed by lunch at his favorite restaurant.
Send him away for a morning round of 18 holes at his favorite golf course. Meet up at his favorite lunch spot or make a delicious meal at home.

For The Nature Lover/ Adventurer
Do a sunrise hike followed by breakfast at a local food joint

Rent some jet skis, grab a kayak or paddle board for the afternoon and cruise around the local beach, or body of water. Bring something to bbq if the amenities offer it or grab their favorite meal on the way back home.

Stick around the house. Set up horseshoes, cornhole, croquet, or other favorite activities. Have a family friendly competition followed by their favorite meal.
Get all the makings for a movie night. Up the experience if you have the yard space for an outdoor movie event! Watch their favorite movie, eat their favorite snacks, and if the weather outside calls for it, light up a bonfire to stay extra toasty.
